Job summary

We are looking for 1 Facilities Assistants/ Housekeepers

Position available is: 1 x 15.00 hours per week to work on a 2 week rota this will include some weekends and bank holidays

Main duties of the job

To provide a catering service to patients on 3 wards within Lings Bar Hospital

Serving food, drinks and snacks whilst maintaining high standards of cleaning within the ward kitchens.

To ensure high standards of customer service and catering services. The completion of all relevant paperwork in line with Trust policies and procedures.

Job responsibilities

To ensure compliance with the Catering Food Safety Manual, Trust policies and procedures and to the Food Safety Act and Food Hygiene Regulations.

Please note this post does not meet skill level required for a Skilled worker visa. Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker visa will usually need to be in a role which is at Band 3 or above, however please note not all Band 3 roles are capable of sponsorship. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Basic Knowledge of Health and Safety

Desirable

  • Knowledge and awareness of special diets and allergens
  • Basic understanding of infection control
  • Understanding of the responsibility relating to H&S at work and COSHH
  • Knowledge of manual handling
  • Knowlwedge of NHS policy and procedures
  • Basic Knowledge of food safety

Experience

  • Experience or working within a catering, cleaning or portering environment
  • Experience of working within healthcare environment which may include: a catering, cleaning or portering function.
  • Experience of working within a food safety management system (HACCP)
