Job summary
The Female Relief Care & Support Worker provides flexible, person-centred care and support to tenants living within Jewish Cares Retirement Living Service, covering planned and unplanned absence on a bank basis across day and night shifts. Supporting older people to maintain their independence, dignity, and wellbeing, the postholder will provide personal care, administer medication (where trained), respond to emergency call systems, carry out wellbeing checks, maintain accurate records, and promote a safe and welcoming environment. Working closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals, they will deliver compassionate support tailored to each tenant's individual needs. This post includes working days (7am9pm), waking nights, weekends, and bank holidays on an as-required basis. Due to the nature of providing intimate personal care, there is a genuine occupational requirement that the postholder is female.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a caring and compassionate Female Relief Care & Support Worker to join our Retirement Living team on a flexible bank basis, covering both day and night shifts as required. You will support tenants to live safely and independently within their own homes by providing personal care, emotional support, medication assistance (where trained), and responding to changing needs throughout your shift. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll help create a safe, welcoming, and vibrant community while promoting dignity, choice, and independence. We are seeking experienced Support Workers who can provide bank/ relief cover both during the day and nights and can work all the following shifts throughout the week and weekends when required.7.00am to 3.00pm
3.00pm to 9.00pm
9.00pm to 7.00am
There is a genuine occupational requirement, in accordance with the Sex Discrimination Act 1974, for the postholder to be female.

As a Care & Support Worker, youll support tenants living in their own flatshelping them stay independent, connected, and in control of their lives. From practical support to companionship, youll build meaningful relationships and play a key role in creating a strong community.
