ABOUT THE ROLE As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support. You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. That could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting some new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. The wellbeing of residents is a priority, requiring work executed with sensitivity to their needs. Hands-on experience in property maintenance is essential, along with at least one trade skill and ideally the ability to perform a range of maintenance tasks. The role requires reliability, flexibility in working hours, a full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and qualification in Maths and English.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Hands-on experience of property maintenance, at least one trade skill, full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
