Job summary

At Our Health Partnership (OHP), we are one of the UKs largest GP partnerships, delivering high quality primary care services across practices and networks. Our focus is on improving patient outcomes, supporting sustainable healthcare services and creating a positive environment for both patients and staff.

We are now seeking an experienced and strategic HR leader to join us as our Head of People.

Main duties of the job

This is a senior leadership role responsible for leading and developing a modern, professional and compliant People function across OHP.

This role offers the opportunity to influence and improve the entire employee lifecycle from attraction, recruitment and onboarding through to employee engagement, development, retention and exit processes. You will play a key role in designing and embedding consistent people processes, governance frameworks and workforce systems that support both operational efficiency and an excellent employee experience across the organisation.

You will also provide professional HR advice and guidance to GP Practices and PCNs on a broad range of workforce matters, supporting managers to navigate complex employment issues confidently and consistently whilst ensuring compliance with employment legislation, NHS workforce requirements and best practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys combining strategic leadership with operational improvement and relationship-based partnering across a diverse healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of OHPs workforce and people strategy
  • Provide expert HR and employment law advice to senior leaders and the Board, Practices and PCNs.
  • Lead workforce planning, organisational development and culture initiatives
  • Oversee complex employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, organisational change, redundancy and TUPE
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, NHS workforce governance standards, CQC requirements and immigration obligations
  • Develop workforce analytics, dashboards and HR systems to support strategic decision making
  • Lead recruitment governance and workforce compliance processes
  • Promote staff wellbeing, leadership development and employee engagement initiatives
  • Act as the organisations Skilled Worker Visa Authorising Officer
  • Serve as Freedom to Speak Up Guardian
  • Line manage and support HR administration

  • Experience of CQC regulatory requirements
  • Extensive experience managing employee relations cases
  • Experience developing HR strategies and workforce plans
  • Experience advising senior leaders and boards on workforce matters
  • Experience implementing HR policies and governance frameworks
  • Experience managing organisational change programmes
  • Experience within NHS, primary care or regulated healthcare environments
