We are a small friendly rural dispensing practice looking to expand our nursing team. We are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our team. If you are looking for a new challenge or a new work environment, please get in touch.
Hours are negotiable but will be 14-16 hours and salary depending on experience.
Main duties will include:
- Venepuncture
- ECG's
- Blood pressure
- Urine Testing
- Undertaking and recording measurements of height and weight
- To carry out new patient health checks
- Preparing and assisting with coil fittings
- To ensure stock items are ordered and provided in the clinical rooms and emergency equipment is maintained
- Chaperone when required

Job responsibilities
JOB TITLE: Health Care Assistant
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB1. Ensuring patients are effectively and courteously dealt with.
2. To ensure continuous development and updating of skills
3. Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
4. Working within Health & Safety guidelines.
5. Ensuring general tidiness of work areas.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE1. To carry out new patient registration checks
2. To act as chaperone when required
3. Preparing and assisting with minor surgery/coil fittings/implants
4. To ensure stock items are ordered and provided in GP & Treatment rooms, and emergency equipment is maintained appropriately
5. ECGs
6. Blood Pressure
7. Urine Testing
8. Vene-puncture
9. Undertaking and recording measurement of height & weight
10. To follow infection control standards
11. 24 hr BP Monitoring
Person Specification
Qualifications
Desirable
- Qualified Health Care assistant.
- Venepuncture skills.
- Prior health care assistant experience
Experience
Essential
- Worked as a health care assistant
Desirable
- Experience working in primary care/GP practice
