Job summary
As a Housekeeping Assistant at Jewish Care, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors and colleagues at Otto Schiff. Working as part of the Hospitality team, you will maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home, including residents rooms, communal areas and staff facilities. You will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, while working flexibly to meet the needs of the service. Your work will directly contribute to the comfort, dignity and wellbeing of residents, including people living with dementia, by helping to create an environment where they can feel safe, comfortable and at home. This is a permanent, 37.5-hour-per-week role, working five days out of seven, Sunday to Thursday, with flexibility across the required shift patterns.
Main duties of the job
Join Jewish Care as a Housekeeping Assistant and make a meaningful difference through the quality of the environment you help provide. You will be responsible for keeping residents rooms, communal spaces and staff areas clean, hygienic and welcoming, while supporting the wider housekeeping team and following infection control and health and safety standards. The role is particularly rewarding because your work helps residents feel comfortable, respected and at home, including people living with dementia. We are looking for someone with previous cleaning or housekeeping experience who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and can use floor and carpet cleaning machines. You will need to be reliable, hardworking and flexible, with the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.

Job responsibilities
Our multi-award-winning organisation is looking to recruit a Housekeeping Assistant to join our Hospitality team. This role may include some weekend working.
The role of Housekeeping Assistant will involve the delivery of Hospitality Services within our Campus, Care Homes, and Community Centres to excellent standards.
Working HoursThis role is working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, Sunday to Thursday, with flexibility required to work either of the following shifts:
7:30am 4:00pm 8:00am 4:30pm
Candidates must be able to work flexibly across these shift patterns according to the needs of the service.
