ABOUT THE ROLE Your focus as Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are maintained. Other responsibilities will include: Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions. Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition. Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.

Main duties of the job

As a Housekeeping Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your role involves supporting our care teams by ensuring that the cleanliness and laundry standards for our residents are maintained to a high standard. You will contribute to the positive impact on residents lives, ensuring their surroundings are clean, welcoming, and reflective of the quality care they receive. Working in our care home environment, you'll follow our established procedures for housekeeping and laundry to ensure a hotel-like service. As part of your duties, you'll be expected to carry out cleaning following worksheet instructions, understand and meet the specific cleaning requirements for various areas, and ensure all resident interactions are handled with respect and dignity.   • Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
  • Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.

  • The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Qualifications

Essential

  • To succeed in this role at Avery Healthcare, an ideal candidate should exhibit a strong understanding of Health and Safety protocols, particularly in areas such as Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments. Experience in cleaning and laundry services within a public setting is necessary, as well as demonstrating a vocational commitment to high-quality service delivery. The role demands a flexible approach, adapting to various responsibilities as needed and reflecting values such as caring, integrity, and accountability in all aspects of the job.
