Main duties of the job

As a Housekeeping Assistant at South Lodge Care Home in Leicester, you will play a crucial role as part of the team ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained. You will work according to Avery Healthcare's standard operating procedures, maintaining high hotel service standards. Your responsibilities include carrying out all cleaning duties as instructed, understanding different cleaning requirements, and ensuring all areas are well-maintained. A key part of your role is treating all residents with dignity and respect. To succeed in this role, embody the values of being caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable. Bring knowledge of Health and Safety, cleaning, Moving and Handling techniques, and COSHH assessments. Prior experience in public setting laundry cleaning and flexibility in covering a range of responsibilities are also important.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus asHousekeepingAssistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry aremaintainedin the home. You willoperateaccording to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards aremaintained.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

Carrying out all cleaning dutiesin accordance withworksheetinstructions.
Understandingthe cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.

Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.

The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Qualifications

Essential

Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, COSHH assessments, experience in public setting laundry cleaning, compassion, commitment to quality service, and flexibility.
