About the RoleAs a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients and staff.
Purpose of job:
- Work as a member of the housekeeping team, contributing to the provision of a comfortable and effective stay for patients, by ensuring that the ward/departments are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and to help serve meals as required.
- Work as a member of the non-ward-based team, ensuring that all non-ward areas(offices, corridors etc.) are cleaned to a high standard of cleanliness, maintaining a pleasant environment for staff, patient and visitors.
- To carry out the full range of duties listed below.

Education/Qualifications
Essential
- Good level of basic education.
- Able to demonstrate literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills.
Desirable
- NVQ level 1 in cleaning and support services building interior
- Basic food hygiene.
Experience
Essential
- Basic housekeeping experience
- Hygiene COSSH procedures
Desirable
- Infection prevention and control
- NHS experience.
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
- Good communication skills.
- Able to deal confidently and professionally with members of the public and staff
- Able to read and understand written and verbal communication/instruction.
- Team worker
- Customer focussed
- Basic IT skills
