Job summary

As part of its collaboration agreement, UCLH and Whittington Health (WH) have created an exciting new opportunity for an experienced senior legal professional to assist with can support both UCLH and WH by advising on a wide range of issues, including but not limited to, research and commercial contracts, , data protection, property, court of protection, employment and litigation

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities and duties will be:o Support the broader legal function at UCLH and WH including but not limited to, employment matters, estates, court of protection work and commercial contracts;o Support the continued development of the legal services team at both trusts, including the development of new business practices and drafting templates and SOPs;o Work with third-party legal suppliers to ensure best value for money advice and managing budgets for external legal counsel where appropriate.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Law degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Solicitor
  • Continuous professional development

Experience

Desirable

  • Background in the health, research or pharmaceutical sector

Skills/abilities

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills including attention to detail and ability to communicate complex principles to wide-ranging audience within and outside the Trust (including speaking with patients)
  • Good report drafting skills for senior level internal and external audiences
