- To undertake a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical and Building Maintenance duties of a semi-skilled nature, both repair and pre-planned. To be able to work as part of a team and act autonomously with minimum supervision guided by department's standard operating procedures and advice notes
Main duties of the job
- Undertake unsupervised planned preventative maintenance and minor repair work, not requiring the attention of a fully qualified craftsman.
- Assist craftsmen and other Estates staff in maintenance, installation, and other such tasks as required helping the department reach its objectives.
- Completion of all report forms, logs and other such statutory recording procedures.
- Use of range of equipment and hand tools appropriate to the duties of the post.
- Maintain all plantrooms, workshops, and the site as a whole in a clean and tidy manner.
- Assist in cleaning of tanks and air conditioning ducts, including in confined spaces:
- Cleaning of vents, grills and radiators
- Replacement of light bulbs and tubes around site
- Portable appliance testing and maintaining up to date log
- Assist in unblocking drains
- Minor plumbing works

Job responsibilities
- Use of range of equipment and hand tools appropriate to the duties of the post.
- Maintain all plant-rooms, workshops, and the site as a whole in a clean and tidy manner.
- Assist in cleaning of grilles Air Handling Unit ducts including in confined spaces.
- Cleaning of vents and radiators.
- Replacement of lamps and LED panels around the site
- Portable appliance testing, and maintaining up to date log.
- Assist in unblocking drains.
- Complete minor plumbing works alone such as replacing tap cartridges.
- Minor carpentry works such as hanging notice and white boards.

Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
- A proven background within Maintenance or similar industries
- Experience / knowledge in the use of hand tools
- Experience / knowledge of electrical/ mechanical and building maintenance.
- Experience of using computer programmes.
- Understanding of COSHH regulations
Desirable
- Previous experience in working within the Healthcare environment.
- Experience of driving Transit Van sized vehicle towing a trailer.
- Understanding of Asbestos regulations
- Recognised Electrical qualification

- General Education to a good standard

- Qualification/education/training on maintenance related subject
