Job summary
We are currently looking to recruit a full time medical receptionist to join our team.
The successful candidate will be patient focused, a good team player and flexible in their approach
Main duties of the job
To provide a professional, courteous and efficient service to our patients, colleagues and external healthcare professionals. The post holder will be the first point of contact for patients and will contribute to the smooth running of the practice by ensuring effective communication, appointment management, and administrative support.
About us
Bridge End Surgery has a well established admin, nursing and clinical team.
The practice consists of 2 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GP's, 2 ANP's, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant, 1 GPA, admin team (split into admin and reception), 1 Pharmacist, and our PCN colleagues, (Care Co Ordinators, Pharmacy Technician, Dietitian, First Contact Physio, Mental Health Practitioners)
We aim to deliver the best possible service whilst maintaining the healthiest well-being balance as possible.
Job responsibilities
You will be responsible for administrative functions, including but not limited to:-
Reception duties, providing a positive patient experience, advice, information and signposting.
Make and receive telephone calls and respond to voicemails.
Book, manage and cancel GP appointments on our clinical system.
Patient record management, record all patient contacts and ensure accurate data entry.
Patient administration, support patients with paperwork, registration and record management.
Use of the clinical system to respond to patient results request.
Printing, scanning and photocopying ensuring information is uploaded to records
Patient tasks, emails and E-consults
Prescriptions including repeat prescriptions
General administrative duties
Handling sensitive and confidential information.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Mathematics and English Grade C or above
Desirable
- AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification
Experience
Essential
- Patient/Customer facing work experience
Desirable
- Experience of working with in a GP Surgery is preferable
