Job summary
Clarendon Medical Centre are advertising a new role of trainee read coder and summariser. We are a large team serving 10,000 patients. We have 1 positions available in the coding Team. Both positions will work Monday to Friday 25 hours.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
- Sorting of patient records in preparation for summarising
- Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medical history
- Extensive Notes Summarising
- Scanning clinical correspondence to the patients records
- Coding the information into the practice clinical system
- Workflow correspondence following practice protocol
- Auditing data collection standards in the Practice
- Ensure that all confidential information is locked away securely at the end of the day
- Monitoring the progress of notes, summarising against our targets
- Routinely perform coding of all relevant information from patients notes, letters from clinical consultants, test results and diagnostic reports into the Practice clinical system
- Clinical searches on patients to ensure notes are correctly coded
- General ad-hoc additional administration tasks
- Checking notes and inputting data related to QOF (quality outcomes framework)
- To be flexible to support wider work of admin team as necessary
- Handling queries tasks and telephone calls both internally and externally

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- Worked in a GP Practice for 12 months.
Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE Grade A-C in maths and English.
Desirable
- Qualified to NVQ level 3
Knowledge and skills
Essential
- Knowledge of Systmone
- Knowledge of Scanning and Processing Mail
- Basic IT Skills and know Hardware used to process mail
