Medical Support Secretary Neurosciences - Royal Stoke Site
Working Days: Thursday and Friday
The post holder is required to support the medical secretary in the delivery of comprehensive secretarial, waiting list management and administrative support to medical and nursing staff within a specialty team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist medical and nursing colleagues in the organisation of the specialty team workload, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients/carers, ensuring compliance with the Patient Access Policy and Divisional requirements in terms of inpatient waiting list management and typing correspondence and/or transcribing and typing up of minutes as appropriate. The post holder will cover the workload of other members of the Neurology administration team as required.

Job responsibilities
Responsibility for handling telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement to assess each situation and to deal with accordingly.
To deliver a high standard of communication to build and maintain good working relationships.
The post holder will be required to locate and track case notes if required.
To support the Medical Secretary and specialty team in the delivery of waiting list management.
Liaise with medical team and appointments department to arrange, cancel or alter clinical commitments to contribute to the smooth running of the department.
