Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and organisedMedical Workforce Advisor to join our Medical Workforce team based at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.
Working as part of a professional and supportive team, you will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive medical staffing service to medical and dental staff across Hywel Dda University Health Board. The post holder will support the Senior Medical Workforce Advisor in ensuring the effective management of workforce processes and will oversee the workflow of the Medical Workforce Assistants across the Health Board.
This role provides an ideal platform for someone with strong administrative, organisational and people management skills to expand their experience and develop their career within NHS workforce services.
Working days and hours will be agreed upon appointment. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a combination of home-based and office-based working.Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a consistent Medical Workforce service to ensure the appropriate contractual advice is given to support policies to assist with job planning, contractual advice & managing sickness.
They will contribute to the delivery of medical workforce objectives by working closely with the Senior Medical Workforce Manager, Senior Medical Workforce Advisors and Operational Managers providing complex professional medical workforce advice.
They will develop and maintain an efficient working knowledge of national medical and dental terms and conditions and be a pro-active member of the team. They will suggest service improvement and innovation to ensure that a responsive Medical Workforce service is provided. They will review and implement processes to effectively manage the workflow of the Medical Workforce Assistants, ensuring that deadlines andtimescales are met.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

Job responsibilities
The role will involve:
Supporting managers with developing new Resident Doctor rotas to meet service changes and educational and training requirements.
Leading on the update of the Allocate Resident Doctor portal as an on-going responsibility, updating the information system regularly to ensure that information is current and that information retrieval is easily accessible for reporting to Welsh Government.
Supporting Specialty Leads and Operational Managers in the development of rota design and work schedules for all Resident medical staff.
Be familiar with the Single Lead Employer policy in respect of Resident Doctors in training and ensure that they are applied fairly and consistently and undertaking the necessary work associated with this new process.
