Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and qualified person to provide a high quality, recovery focused support to our clients who have a range of mental health needs as well as other support needs including learning disabilities, physical health issues and substance misuse, whilst promoting independence and social inclusion. We work in close partnership with other professionals, so we require good communication skills and advocacy for the people who we support.

Main duties of the job

Duties to include: To deliver emotional support,adviceand guidance via face to face, telephone, and video. To assess a situation todeterminerisk and the needs of the person accessing support. To make decisions under pressure whilst communicating with the person accessing support. To accurately record new contacts and details of visits and calls on relevant electronic systems. To work in line with performance targets and key contractual requirements, providing data and case studies as requested. To advise and be actively involved in individual risk assessment and review. Whereidentified,an appropriate action plan/safety plan will be put in place to meet individual's needs. To encourage those accessing support to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect their mental wellbeing and physical health To work with a range of partners,stakeholdersand external agencies to meet individual's needs and support with individual safety and delivery of the service To work as a team member, sharing information and supporting colleagues, ensuring they have the knowledge, information, and resources to be successful in their roles and make a positive and valued contribution to the service. To actively obtain relevant literature / resource materials fromappropriate internalteams and external agencies to assist with support conversations and signposting. To partake in training and mentoring for allnew staff.

Job responsibilities

Mental Health Crisis Recovery Worker Hours: 34.5hrs Location: 164 Ramsgate Road Thanet Mental Health Unit Margate, Kent, CT9 4DF Shifts: 3 x 12 hours a week (nights) including weekends 8pm to 8am Salary: £24,478.50 - £27,028 per annum (£26,607 - £29,378 FTE) Could you be there for someone in crisis?   • To attend all relevant meetings and supervision sessions.
  • To be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative whererequired.
  • To work with the team to continually improve own and team performance.
  • To ensure your personal training and development needs areidentified.
  • To actively involve people and their informal support networks in service planning,deliveryand review.
  • To carry out duties on a rota system to meet the service requirements of being open 365 days a year, or as stipulated in area specific contract.
  • To agree to be contacted whilst not on shift to alleviate any rota issues / difficulties that willassistin ensuring continuous service delivery (last option).
  • To actively promote a positive image of Mental Health Matters and mental health issues.
  • To engage with community events, meetings and forums and local organisation and networks
  • To promote the service and MHM
  • To proactively contribute to continuously improving the service by making positive suggestions, providing constructivefeedbackand assisting in the implementation of agreed new ways of working.
  • Any other duties relevant to the post
  • About you: You will require advanced experience and understanding of complex mental health needs displaying emotional intelligence to those who you support. You will be driven with recovery focused support and be able to implement and evidence support in the recovery work you provide. There is a need for enhanced understanding of IT systems and record keeping ensuring a high standard of data recording. You will need to work well as a team that provides compassion and advocacy for people who access our service, ensuring diligent hand overs are provided as well as team decision making ensuring there in consistency in the care and service we offer.
