Job summary

The postholder will be qualified as an Associate Nurse Practitioner and therefore beregistered with the NMC. They will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse orother Registered Practitioner to implement and provide high quality, individualised carefor patients.

Main duties of the job

The role will work across all aspects of primary care. The role will operate to deliveragreed care to patients and vulnerable people as directed by the team and will includecompleting physical health observations, therapeutic interventions, administeringmedications, completing clinics which will include phlebotomy clinics, ECG clinics and NHShealth check clinic, well-woman, first and second reception screening and assisting in longterm condition clinics.The post holder will be fully involved in patient care and will be expected to work as partof the emergency response team as required.The post holder will be expected to operate in line with our shared commitment to ourvalues; Working Together, Integrity, Respect and Recognition, Compassion andInnovation.

Person Specification

Education

Essential

  • NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care.
  • Registered with the NMC and have the Associate Nurse qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Demonstration of experience of working with people with complex health needs, in a health or social care setting.
  • In depth knowledge of health of primary care, mental health and addiction support and an ability to work across these areas.
  • Experience of work in a multi disciplinary team setting.
  • Knowledge of nursing procedures and practices gained through NVQ 4 or equivalent and Associate Nurse qualification.
  • Understanding and application of confidentiality.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of using or accessing mental health services or caring for someone who has accessed services.
  • Knowledge or experience of working within a GP Practice environment
  • Previous experience of working with people accessing Substance Misuse services or able to demonstrate an understanding of clinical pathways for substance misuse
  • Experience of supervising others.
