Job summary

This is an exciting career opportunity for an Operations Manager to join a friendly, four partner training practice serving around 9000 patients in the ever-popular suburb of Sale, South Manchester.

We are looking for friendly, helpful, enthusiastic people to join our busy team.

We have excellent staff retainment. This is in part a new role and to replace a member of staff due to retirement.

Main duties of the job

Ensure smooth day-to-day running of all Practice services

Maintain clinical system integrity and functionality

Act as first point of escalation for Reception manager, Workflow and Secretarial Teams, and Care Co-ordinators

Act as practice administrator for clinical IT systems

Act as main liaison with ICB IT and external IT providers Maintain IT hardware inventory and asset tracking

Deliver staff induction programmes

Provide training on clinical or IT systems

Support practice manager in ensuring non-clinical staff mandatory training up to date

Conduct or oversee staff appraisals for reception and admin staff

Act as first point of escalation for HR issues/grievances and disciplinary processes.

Absence co-ordinator and return to work interviews for workflow, secretarial and care coordinators

Manage PCSE, cervical screening systems (CSMS), and patient records admin processes

Support clinical audits and audit cycle activity

Liaise with Patient Participation Group (PPG)

Manage QOF performance tracking and reporting

Coordinate flu and COVID campaign administration

Act as Complaints Officer (formal process ownership)

Ensure infection control procedures are followed

Admin lead for safeguarding

Admin lead for prescribing

Admin lead for research

Manage estates issues and liaise with relevant teams to resolve them

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing staff
  • Experience of working to deadlines and hitting targets
  • Good communication skills
  • Good time management
  • Excellent computer skills

Desirable

  • Experience of working in Primary Care
  • Experience of working with Emis

Qualifications

Essential

  • GSCE grade A to C in English and Maths

Desirable

  • Qualification in Management
