Job summary
We are looking for an organised and proactive QOF Lead and Medical Secretary to join our Practice Team within a busy GP practice environment. This key role combines responsibility for Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) activity, patient recall management and medical secretarial support, helping to ensure patients receive timely reviews, vaccinations and high-quality care. You will work closely with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants and the practice management team, supporting both clinical and administrative functions across the practice. Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate QOF-related activity, managing long-term condition recalls, reviews and vaccination programmes to support practice performance and improve patient care outcomes.
Maintain accurate patient records by processing clinical correspondence, coding information, managing online access requests, completing audits and ensuring high standards of data quality and confidentiality.
Provide comprehensive medical secretarial and administrative support, including managing insurance reports, SAR requests, referrals, practice communications and day-to-day support for clinicians and management teams.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Good standard of general education, including English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
Experience working within a General Practice environment, with an understanding of patient records, administrative processes and clinical coding principles.
Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to work independently, manage deadlines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Job responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To work within a team environment to ensure that all patient records are maintained and accurate.
To download and scan incoming mail on to clinical system and code on to patient records
Manage patient long term condition recalls and DOT reviews, vaccinations using the dashboards.
Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Processing Online access requests
Manage administrative queries as necessary
Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
To work with the Deputy/Practice Manager on auditing data collection to ensure practice standards are met.
To deal with all enquiries tactfully and with due consideration of patient privacy
Participating in educational and learning activities arranged from time to time
Supporting practice policies and protocols, including health and safety and infection control
Supporting a drive to greater automation and use of technology
Photocopying and sending of medical notes where required.
Recording information from incoming hospital letters on computer using read codes, and entering diagnoses in the referral book
Scanning hospital letters and other relevant correspondence into patient records and read coding appropriately
Assisting reception manager as and when required
Follow the process and complete the insurance report/SAR process.
Duties may vary under the direction of the Deputy/Practice Manager depending on workload and staffing levels.
