Job summary
An exciting vacancy for a Health Care Assistant to work on Oldham Interventional Radiology Day Case Unit, caring for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures mainly lung biopsies has arisen.
If you are interested in caring for patients in a specialised area , different from a ward environment , this is the job for you .
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
Main duties of the job
As a Health Care Assistant in our Radiology Day Case Unit, you will play a vital role in assisting radiologists, radiographers, and radiology nurses to provide exceptional careto patients attending the unit for day case interventional procedures. You will conductroutine health related activities and complete personal care and activities of dailyliving, ensuring patient-led care within the Radiology Day Case Unit.
You will record patient information and provide clinical support as required to helpensure the efficient and effective running of the Radiology Day Case Unit, includingdelegated tasks such as assisting the nursing staff in admitting patients to the unit,taking and recording physiological observations, recording blood glucose, undertakingECGs, and venepuncture and cannulation.You will provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship
- Level 1 Literacy (GCSE English Grade D-G or equivalent)
- Care Certificate
Knowledge, Training & Experience
Essential
- Experience of working as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a healthcare setting
- Experience of working in a team
Desirable
- Admitting patients to a day case environment
Skills & Abilities
Essential
- Excellent communication (written and verbal skills)
- Basic IT skills
- Good organisational skills
