Were looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse/ODP to join our Endoscopy team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across a busy and dynamic service. Working closely with the Endoscopy Manager and wider clinical team, youll take ownership of patient care throughout their endoscopy journey, from assessment through to recovery, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate care at every stage. This is a vacancy offering full-time hours (37.5) - 3x 07.30-18.30 and 1x 6 hr shift
Main duties of the job
- Delivering autonomous, high-quality nursing care across outpatient, pre-assessment and endoscopy procedure clinics
- Assessing patient needs and supporting the development of personalised care plans
- Ensuring procedures meet best practice standards (CQC, JAG, CNST) and follow agreed patient pathways
- Safely managing medications, documentation and clinical records to the highest standard
- Supporting patients before, during and after procedures, including providing clear advice on sedation and recovery
- Preparing and maintaining endoscopy equipment and clinical environments
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contributing to effective communication across the service
- Supporting clinical governance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Acting as a role model within the team, contributing to teaching, mentorship and maintaining a positive learning environment
About us
- NMC Registered Nurse or qualified ODP with current registration
- Experience in Endoscopy, Gastroenterology, Urology or a related clinical area
- Strong clinical knowledge, including sedation and patient safety in procedural settings
- Understanding of CQC, JAG and relevant quality standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively within a fast-paced clinical environment
- A proactive, flexible attitude and commitment to continuous professional development
- Passion for delivering high-quality care and supporting team development
