Part-Time, 22.5 hours per week
Working Pattern:
- 3 days per week, worked Monday to Friday
- A minimum of 1 day per week based in the office, with the option to work from home for the remaining 2 days
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £26,000 FTE per annum, pro rata for part time hours

At East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), we support children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families across East Anglia. We are looking for a Philanthropy Fundraiser to help grow our network of major supporters and secure significant gifts that enable us to continue providing vital care and support
The Philanthropy Fundraiser will play a key role in delivering EACH's philanthropy fundraising strategy by securing support from major donors, high-net-worth individuals and emerging philanthropists across East Anglia
Working closely with the Philanthropy Manager and the wider philanthropy and corporate teams, the postholder will cultivate and steward a portfolio of supporters while proactively identifying and engaging new philanthropic prospects
A significant focus of the role will be growing EACH's network of major supporters and philanthropists in Cambridge and the surrounding area, building meaningful relationships that lead to long-term support and significant gifts
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be an effective relationship builder and networker, capable of engaging senior individuals and influencers, identifying new fundraising opportunities, and representing EACH within philanthropic, business and community networks.
What you'll do
- Manage and develop a portfolio of major donors and philanthropic supporters
- Build and maintain long-term relationships through tailored stewardship and engagement activity
- Identify, research and engage new philanthropic prospects, particularly within Cambridge and the surrounding area
- Develop individual engagement plans to encourage long-term support and maximise donor retention
- Prepare personalised communications, reports and proposals for supporters
- Arrange donor meetings, events, presentations and hospice visits
- Use Raiser's Edge and prospect research tools to record activity and develop a sustainable pipeline of supporters
About you
- Experience in fundraising, account management or relationship management
- Experience of networking and engaging external audiences
- The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence others
- Experience of researching opportunities and developing new relationships
- The ability to manage priorities, organise projects and work independently
- Current, full, valid driving license and access to a vehicle

Job responsibilities
Income Generation & Growth
- Work closely with the Philanthropy Manager and wider philanthropy team to maximise income across the region
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new prospects, with a particular focus on Cambridge and the surrounding area
- Undertake wealth screening, prospect research and due diligence to identify individuals with the capacity and inclination to support EACH
Supporter Engagement & Stewardship
- Build strong, long-term relationships with supporters through tailored cultivation and stewardship activity
- Prepare personalised communications, impact reports and stewardship updates
- Implement individual engagement plans to maximise retention, support and lifetime value
- Arrange and support donor meetings, hospice visits, presentations and supporter events
Innovation & Collaboration
- Contribute to the development of new, inclusive, and diverse income generation ideas and practices
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams, including Corporate, Marketing and Care, to create funding opportunities and share impactful stories
Administration & Efficiency
- Use EACHs database (Raisers Edge) to accurately record supporter activity, in line with GDPR
- To work closely with finance to ensure donations are recorded correctly
- Follow organisational processes to improve efficiency
- Manage time and priorities effectively to focus on income-generating opportunities
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- Experience in account management, relationship management or client facing role.
- Experience of networking and engaging external audiences.
Desirable
- Experience working within philanthropy, major donor fundraising or charitable fundraising.
- Experience using CRM databases, ideally Raiser's Edge.
- Experience developing major donor pipelines and prospect research programmes.
- Experience of preparing funding proposals and donor communications.
- Experience of working towards income or business development targets.
- Experience of conducting prospect research and developing pipelines of potential supporters.
Other Requirements
Essential
- Current, full, valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel across East Anglia.
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
Qualifications

- Understanding of relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
- IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word, Outlook and Teams
