We are currently have an exciting new opportunity at Broomfield Hospital to work in our newly refurbished Restaurant as a Catering Assistant.

To carry out a range of general catering duties in an effective and efficient manner, promoting a positive and professional image.

Main duties of the job

To carry out basic food preparation to include packing, labelling, displaying and chilling of sandwiches and other food products.

Serve meals within the agreed standards for portion control and presentation.

Clean, prepare and stock display counters as per daily routine.

Operate electronic tills, taking cash and assisting the duty supervisor to reconcile takings at the end of each shift, observing Standing Financial Instructions.

Ensure areas are kept clean, tidy and in a safe manner.

To have knowledge & with barista style coffees

Distribute provisions, meals and small equipment within the department and hospital site.

The postholder may be required to visit the wards on a regular basis to promote good patient/customer relations.

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Level 2 Food Management Safety NVQ 2 in catering or equivalent
