A fantastic and rare opportunity has arisen to join our well-staffed team in the market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire.

Due to continuing growth in patient numbers Rowden is looking for a salaried GP to join its vibrant, innovative and exceptionally friendly, fun clinical team. We pride ourselves on being a modern general practice whilst retaining traditional values.

You will join an established range of clinicians and administration teams who provide CQC outstanding medical care to over 20,000 patients within Chippenham and its environs.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will help deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care, undertaking the day-to-day clinical duties and responsibilities of a Salaried GP within the practice.

The role includes providing routine and urgent consultations, telephone and online consultations, home visits where required, reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions, managing clinical correspondence and queries and contributing to the ongoing delivery and development of high-quality primary care services.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care as part of our experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team, undertaking the full range of day-to-day clinical duties expected of a Salaried GP.

Main duties include:

  • Providing face-to-face, telephone and online consultations
  • Assessing and managing acute and long-term conditions
  • Undertaking home visits where clinically appropriate
  • Reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions
  • Reviewing and actioning clinical correspondence, test results and other incoming workflow
  • Developing personalised care plans and supporting health promotion and disease prevention
  • Referring patients to secondary care and community services where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records

The post-holder will work autonomously whilst contributing to the wider practice team and will participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and practice development activities.

The Salaried GP will be responsible for the timely management of their own patient-related correspondence, referrals, results, clinical administration and associated paperwork.

The role requires compliance with professional and ethical standards, including maintaining patient confidentiality, safeguarding responsibilities, infection prevention and control requirements, equality, diversity and inclusion principles and all relevant practice policies, procedures and statutory guidance.

Qualifications

Essential

  • - Qualified GP
  • - MRCGP
  • - Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
  • - General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • - Full GMC Registration
  • - National Performers List registration
  • - Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
  • - Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
