Job summary
Crown House Surgery is a well organised and established GP partnership. We have 7 GP Partners, working 6-8 sessions per week, serving a stable population of approximately 11,500 patients. Our working week enables excellent work-life-balance, with a flexible and manageable workload.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP to join our friendly & supportive team for 4 sessions per week, preferably on a Monday & Friday, however we are open to flexibility, supporting a work-life balance. The contract is fixed term until 31st or March 2027, which may be extended, subject to confirmation of ongoing funding and mutual agreement.
The post-holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, delivering high-quality, patient-centred clinical care to the practice population.
This role offers a structured and manageable workload, with no duty sessions or home visiting requirements.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the provision of medical services to the Practice, delivering an excellent standard of care.
The postholder will contribute to service improvement, collaborative working within a multidisciplinary team and the continued development of the practice.
You will provide a mix of routine and acute face to face appointments and clinical administration, plus provide clinical support to our small but experienced urgent care team, which consist of two ACPs and a Paramedic.
You will be responsible for your own clinical administration, including referrals, results, and follow-ups.

Crown House Surgery is based in the small market town of Retford with great travel connections in North Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and the South Yorkshire area, easily commutable from Doncaster, Gainsborough, Worksop, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Newark, Nottingham, Sheffield, Rotherham, Mansfield.
We are situated within Retford Primary Care Centre, a modern purpose-built building offering a well-equipped working space.
The practice has a wide multidisciplinary team, with a nursing team with expertise in chronic disease and treatment room skills and other Allied Health Professionals including ACPs, Paramedic, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and a Social Prescriber.
We are committed to delivering high quality, efficient care with a focus on continuity. We operate a usual doctor system, however our expectation is for the wider clinical workforce and usual doctor to offer continuity of care with a team level approach.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP role. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the practice population
- The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
- Effective management of long-term conditions
- Respsonsible for processing of own administration in a timely manner, including pathology tests & results, referrals, prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
- Working collaboratively, accepting a share of the practice workload
- Providing clinical support to our urgent care team
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines
- Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
- Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
- Prepare and complete the revalidation process
- Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
- Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
- Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all time
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Medical Degree: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or equivalent medical qualification from a recognised university.
- GMC Registration: Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a current Licence to Practice.
- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
- General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
- National Performers List: Included on or eligible for inclusion on the National Medical Performers List for England.
- Right to Work: Eligibility to work independently in the UK.
- MRCGP qualification

- Evidence of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fields
