Job summary

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our forward-thinking, friendly 3-partner practice in Ruislip. This is a fixed-term position with an immediate start until April 2027, ideal for a GP seeking a supportive and well-organised working environment on a part-time basis.

This position will be:

3 Sessions per week - days and times to be agreed.

6 weeks annual leave pro rata

1 weeks study leave pro rata

Indemnity fees will be paid

NHS pension paid.

We are a well-established training practice.

We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified GPs.

Main duties of the job

3 clinical sessions comprising face to face and telephone appointments.

Completing referrals, tasks, Docman, lab reports, admin as required, home visits as required but are minimal. Cover colleagues administration when on annual/sick leave.

You will be entitled to 6 weeks annual leave pro rata, with 1 week study pro rata.

Job responsibilities

Job Description: Salaried General Practitioner (GP)Job Purpose

To provide high-quality primary medical care to the practice population, delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred services in accordance with clinical guidelines and practice policies.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
  • Undertake a full range of GP clinical duties in accordance with the agreed practice timetable, including:
    • Face-to-face consultations
    • Telephone and digital consultations
    • Home visits where clinically appropriate
  • Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
  • Make professional, autonomous clinical decisions in relation to patient care, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement management plans in partnership with patients, in line with practice protocols and current clinical guidelines.
  • Identify and manage patients with long-term conditions, including participation in QOF and enhanced service requirements.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
Prescribing and Medicines Management
  • Issue acute and repeat prescriptions via electronic systems, ensuring safe and evidence-based prescribing.
  • Prescribe in accordance with local and national formularies, promoting cost-effective prescribing where appropriate.
  • Review and manage repeat medication requests, ensuring clinical appropriateness.
Patient Management
  • Admit, discharge, and appropriately refer patients to secondary care or other healthcare services.
  • Provide health education, counselling and preventative advice to patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support holistic patient care.
Administration and Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate, clear, and contemporaneous clinical records using SystmOne, in line with agreed standards.
  • Process clinical correspondence, results and administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Complete documentation required for patient care, audits and statutory reporting.
  • Collect and contribute data for clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Governance and Professional Responsibilities
  • Work in accordance with GMC standards for Good Medical Practice.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant practice policies and procedures, including:
    • Confidentiality and data protection
    • Safeguarding
    • Health and safety
    • Prescribing guidelines
  • Participate in practice meetings, clinical governance and continuous professional development (CPD).
General
  • Carry out all duties and responsibilities expected of a GP within primary care.
  • Contribute to the achievement of practice objectives, including service development and quality improvement.
  • Maintain professional registration, appraisal, and revalidation requirements.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Qualified General Practitioner with a UK GMC number.
  • EMIS, DOCMAN knowledge and experience.

Desirable

  • Experience of QOF and clinical audits within primary care
