We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Healthcare assistant to join our elective Orthopaedic surgical ward team. You will be supporting patients who are undergoing major joint surgery and will play a vital part in their surgical journey from admission through to discharge.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role are
- Delivery of high quality care to patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery.
- Assisting patients with their daily activities of living including personal care, hydration and encouragement of independent mobility.
- Undertake and record routine observations, escalating any concerns to the Registered nurse in charge.
- Assist with patient transfers, mobilisation and rehabilitation programmes in line with their individual care plan and therapy plan.
- Promote patient dignity,privacy and well being at all times.
- Ensure ward areas are well stocked, reporting any environmental or equipment concerns.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures at all times.
- Participate in handovers, team meetings and service improvement initiatives
- Act as a role model for junior staff providing support and guidance where needed.
- Ensure that care is delivered in line with the trust values and behavioural standards at all times.
