This post is based around a planned movement scheme with MSK outpatients, Acute Elderly care, Respiratory medicine, Intensive Care, Acute stroke unit, Neuro outpatients and Community rehab team within the ICC
The role of the Physiotherapy Service is to provide efficient and effective patient focused care to all service users within primary and secondary care settings. This seamless provision ensures equity of service, patient choice and high standards of personalised care.
The service provides specialist assessment and rehabilitation for patients with a wide range of long and short-term conditions.
This role offers you an opportunity to work within a team offering robust appraisals, preceptorship, clinical and managerial supervision. Continuing professional development is encouraged and we are proud of our varied and interesting in-house training programme which you will be involved in.
Main duties of the job
To practice in accordance with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Rules of Professional Conduct and The Health Professions Council Regulations.
To work autonomously with an increasingly complex caseload undertaking assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and providing appropriate advice.
Emphasis is placed on the provision of a holistic care package tailored to the individual's needs with the aim of developing maximum function and hence improving quality of life.

Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent.
- HCPC registration.
Desirable
- Clinical supervision / mentoring certificate or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Rotations in a broad range of core areas, e.g. cardio-respiratory, ITU, elderly rehabilitation, acute medicine, orthopaedics, MSK, neurology and community rehabilitation.
- Deputising for senior colleagues.
- Involvement in service development through clinical audit, use of outcome measures etc.
- Working to full band 5 outline.
- Supervising e.g. students, newly qualified staff, support staff
- Delegation and caseload prioritisation
- Working independently on call.
- Consolidation and development of undergraduate training through attendance at in service training and other CPD opportunities.
- Portfolio of evidence of post graduate learning e.g. ALERT, neurology, cardio-respiratory etc. Key NHS drivers for change and implications for physiotherapy services.
- Following NHS discharge policy Professional code of conduct and confidentiality.
- Awareness of complaints procedure.
- Understanding of Equality and diversity issues.
