Job summary

We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to provide an effective and efficient secretarial service to each of the Dental Specialties. The post holders will have a range of secretarial experience, ideally in a hospital environment, though other administration experience will be considered.

Working in a busy and sometimes demanding role, within a supportive team, you must be a good team player and enjoy working within multidisciplinary teams. The applicant should have good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Applicants must have excellent communication skills. The successful candidates will need to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to undertake a dictation typing test prior to a face-to-face interview.

2 X substantive post 37.5 hours per week to work across all Dental Specialities supporting the Senior Medical Secretaries. Part time/ job share will be considered.

Main duties of the job

o To audio type, edit and proof read clinical letters, general correspondence and reports using the Trust's Digital Dictation and Speech Recognition System, ensuring that all correspondence is despatched within the Trust's target turnaround timeso Achieve the required standard of proofreading/editing using the Trust's Digital Dictation and Speech Recognition System, as specified by the Trusto Use the relevant computer systems and Patient Administration System (PAS) to accurately input and retrieve patient information, updating demographics where necessaryo To check incoming email inbox(s) on a daily basis to keep up to date with departmental and Trust wide news and information
