The key function is to support NHS Property Services in delivering building services maintenance and repairs across the NHS to ensure buildings are maintained to the highest standards and to provide a safe and secure environment for staff and customers. Main duties of the job

Ensure compliance in accordance with all NHSPS Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policies, relevant NHSPS Technical Guidance, Process and Procedures, Statutory Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice and any applicable aspects of HTMs. Can implement new standards and lead change to manage continual improvement. To conduct quality audits of works to ensure minimum organisational standards are met and maintained and to take immediate corrective action when required where audits do not meet such standards. To undertake toolbox talks and lead health & safety compliance across teams. You may be required to manage colleagues and undertake tasks in disciplines other than your own. Meet with customers and contractors to ensure works are delivered to organisational standards and where applicable to resolve first line customer complaints or (when appropriate) escalate to immediate line manager with a view to providing accurate information/recommendations for corrective action to be taken. Responsible for the supervision, health, safety, and wellbeing of the building services team.

About the Role As a Technical Services Supervisor, you will play a central role in leading the delivery of Hard FM services across a portfolio of sites in South London. Based at Erith Health Centre, you will oversee multiple locations, ensuring compliance, performance, and service excellence across all building services activities. A key aspect of your role will involve managing a team of multi-disciplined engineers, ensuring workloads are effectively planned and delivered, and supporting the smooth running of both planned and reactive maintenance. You will also work closely with Senior Contract Managers and Estate Coordinators to ensure services are aligned and operating efficiently. This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and confidence in working within a systems-driven, compliance-focused environment.   • Leading and managing a team of multi-disciplinary engineers across multiple sites
  • Planning and monitoring workloads to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Overseeing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
  • Managing contractor performance and ensuring compliance with required standards
  • Monitoring team performance, training, and mandatory compliance requirements
  • Using CAFM systems to manage workflows, reporting, and maintenance activities
  • Carrying out site visits and working collaboratively with wider operational teams
  • Supporting a culture of continuous improvement and high performance
  • Can handle routine tasks and social interactions within a work environment. Ability to absorb policy and guidance necessary for the role.
  • Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience managing teams, ideally within a building services or FM environment
  • Strong technical background with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience) in building services
  • Experience using CAFM systems and managing compliance processes
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance programmes (PPMs)
  • Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH) - desirable
  • Full UK driving licence (manual) - essential
  • Can handle routine tasks and interactions within a work environment and apply policies and procedures effectively
  • Where you'll be This is a full-time, permanent role based in South London, with a core base at Erith Health Centre and responsibility for sites across the surrounding area You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.     Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Specialist knowledge acquired through experience or qualification.
    • Hold level 3 NVQ or equivalent in related building services.
    • Formal apprenticeship or craft trained within building services.
    • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
    • Full UK Driving Licence.

    Experience

    Essential

    • Proven experience working within a buildings maintenance environment managing or supervising a mixed ability maintenance team
    • Experience of managing people related activities to a high standard i.e., disciplinary/absence management etc.
    • Working within the requirements of method statements or permit to work.
    • Experience delivering maintenance services to a specification such as SFG20.
