Job summary
The Ward Clerk plays a central role in the smooth running of a new ward designed for patients who are medically and therapy fit but awaiting discharge, onward placement, or community support. This role ensures the ward operates efficiently by providing high-quality administrative support, excellent communication, and a welcoming, organised environment for patients, families, and staff.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a Team, has good interpersonal skills and are efficient individuals with excellent communication and IT skills.
You will be an integral member of the Community and Liaison team, providing an effective day-to-day clerical support to facilitate the smooth running of these services.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical activities. These will include answering the telephone, meeting and greeting staff, filing, general clerical duties such as data collection and using NHS IT systems eg. EMIS, in order to meet the needs of the service in accordance with Departmental, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures.
