A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a teacher, with SEN experience, to join the teaching team at Barndale School in Amble. This position would be likely to be with our secondary pupils, but would welcome applications from all phases. The position would be starting in January 2026.About the School Barndale School is a forward thinking, ambitious and caring residential special school. We currently operate over two sites- Alnwick and Amble. Our children and young people are aged 5-19 years of age with a range of neurodiverse needs including:

Who are we looking for...
  • To achieve this you will need to be passionate, enthusiastic, driven and ready for a challenge. You will work closely with your class team to deliver the whole curriculum as well as supporting pupils in their holistic development.
  • Experience, subject knowledge and resourcing of the whole curriculum, as well as removing barriers to learning, is an essential part of the role of Specialist Teacher here at Barndale.
  • The class group/Key Stage is to be confirmed following interview.
