As a member of the Fostering Service within Childrens Service you will support the achievement of these key priorities, making a real difference to the lives of people in Shropshire. The post is based within the Children's Social Work & Safeguarding services which work in close partnership with other statutory agencies, the private and the independent sector. Overview of your role This role will support the Marketing and Events Manager to provide excellent engagement of new and existing foster carers, creating, supporting & administering the recruitment processes and assisting in recruitment, communication and marketing campaign delivery. Who will your manager be and what will you be responsible for? You will be: ▪ reporting to Marketing and Events Manager who is in turn responsible for your health and safety, training and development. ▪ expected to lead and/or contribute to a range of projects and build relations with both internal and external partners in order achieve specified outcomes but will not have direct authority over those involved. ▪ Responsible for completing within expected timescales all mandatory corporate and role specific training. Training requirements will be detailed in your corporate induction and Personal Development Plan (PDP). Courses are accessed via the council Learning Management System via the Intranet. What will you be doing? The post holder will: • Support the Marketing and Events Manager who holds the strategic responsibility for foster carer recruitment on a day-today operational basis for the in implementation of the recruitment, marketing and engagement strategy. • To support, in conjunction with other key posts across the service the overall work programme for the recruitment of Foster Carers. This includes: • Assisting the developing campaign plans and manage the delivery of campaigns. • Contribute to the production of communications material including printed publicity, advertising, graphic design, copywriting/and use of plain English and digital media. • Liaise external and internal events designed to promote the Partnership. • Be part of the delivery team working & supporting digital and social media activity to complement media and campaign work • Assisting the implementation of market research activities to identify campaign priorities and evaluate activities. • To be assisted by the Marketing and Events Manager in brand development, including: • supporting the development of a brand which represents the vision, mission, outcomes and success measures of the Fostering Service • Helping implement the brand and ensure compliance • Ensuring branding guidelines are adhered to and provide a quality assurance service to ensure that proposed materials represent the Fostering Service appropriately • To assist the Marketing and Events Manager in the development and maintenance of positive and productive relationships with stakeholders across internally and externally in respect of recruitment, marketing and engagement. • Be a point of contact for fostering enquiries both digitally, traditional media and also in person at recruitment events. • Operationally deliver the marketing and recruitment strategy of the service. • Assist in the identification of the resources required to deliver key objectives as identified in the marketing and recruitment strategy. • Assist the Marketing and Events Manager to formulate, manage and deliver targeted recruitment campaigns and events that in line with the marketing and recruitment strategy. • Be part of the team to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, as required, e.g. Ofsted • Identify the most appropriate delivery options and make recommendations to the Marketing and Events Manager in order to achieve these. • Monitor and report on budgets across the marketing portfolio and help ensure delivery within budget and to agreed timescales. • Prepare data for monitoring and report on performance, including key targets and indicators. The post-holder will promote and engage with Council's responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children, young people and adults, and protect their right to be safe from harm. ▪ What are your conditions of Service The conditions of service are those laid down by Shropshire Council, which have been adopted and amended as necessary from those laid down by the National Joint Council for Local Government Services. Your primary work base will be at The Guildhall, Shrewsbury with the requirement to regularly work from home. Depending on the needs of the service and organisation you may be required to work at any of the other Shropshire Council premises. Your post is subject to the following: ▪ The post is Permanent 37 hours per week, ▪ Normal office hours are 08:45 a:m - 5:15 p:m, Monday - Thursday and 08:45 - 16:00 p:m Friday with a minimum lunch break of 30 minutes. ▪ Evening and weekend work will be required in accordance with business need, ▪ The post is subject to the Council's annualised hours scheme as implemented within the specific work area. This post carries eligibility to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. Information about this will be sent with any formal offer of appointment. Annual leave entitlement is a pro rata flat rate scheme of 200 hours (28 days) annual leave plus bank holidays, with five days extra awarded to those staff with five years local government service giving an entitlement of 237 hours (33 days). Two days of an employee's allowance (pro rota for part time staff) must be taken at Christmas for any potential Christmas closures. Employees who work in a building/service which is required to open over the Christmas period, the two days leave (pro rota) can be carried over into your next leave year but must be used by the end of March. The appointment is subject to one month's notice in writing on either side. The appointment is subject to six months' satisfactory probationary service during which time the notice period will be one week on either side. Smoking is not allowed in Council buildings, in Council vehicles or in any Council place of work. It is a condition of your appointment that you provide a suitable vehicle for the performance of your duties and that this is readily available for use during normal working hours. You are entitled to claim for reimbursement of the costs of travel on council business at the rate of 45 pence per mile. What pre-employment checks will we undertake?
