If you’re invited to take part in a health screening program
Please take advantage of it if you possibly can
Bowel, cervical & breast screening are available on the NHS
So, if you are selected, be sure to take the test
You may not have symptoms but the test could prove positive
And that early detection could be the reason that you live
The wait between tests & results may be agonising
And necessary treatment identified after lab analysing
A lump that’s found could be benign or simply fatty tissue
A polyp in the bowel could be removed without further issue
But if you don’t take the test or think you’ll do it another day
The delay could become fatal, sending your life a different way
I took a test quite recently & a procedure followed on
An unpleasant experience but the result proved nothing was wrong
These tests are here to help us live long & healthy lives
With our parents, siblings, children, friends, partners, husbands & wives
