Last night I roused in the dark of night
The room was dim with clock face light.
In my sleep befuddled crawl
I saw my imprint on the wall.
I smiled to see I looked so tall,
The figure held me in its thrall,
My mind and feet seemed paralysed,
This can’t be me I realised.
Then as I crept across the room
The air felt cold with heavy doom,
I moved in fear to get away –
The shadow on the wall did stay.
