Winter in Britain
Monday. Rain like spears slice through the air like javelins at the Olympic games.
Tuesday. A light showery trickle working its way down the back of your neck and into your undies.
Wednesday. A fifty percent chance of precipitation that doesn’t appear.
Thursday. Sheets of rain that bounce as they hit the ground snapping like flapping wet washing creating a wall of wet, cold greyness.
Friday. Diagonal rain, hitting your ear as you try to hide under an umbrella that is turned inside out by the gusting gale.
Saturday. Irish rain, unrelenting, arthritis goading, bone soaking, creaking, with a wind from the west.
Sunday. Sun cloud, rain and at last a rainbow.
