Domestic abuse is always unacceptable. We've support everyone affected by it in Leeds and we act to prevent it.

As Finance Trustee at Behind Closed Doors, you'll work with us to oversee our organisational financial strategy, ensuring sound financial governance and legal compliance.

The Finance Trustee is an important member of our trustee team, providing financial oversight and guidance to the Board and CEO.

Our current Finance Trustee has reached the end of their tenure and we are lookingfor someone from an accounting background to join our board and take on thisrewarding and invaluable position. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing financial oversight to our senior management team,
  • Ensuring funds are invested and used sensibly,
  • Providing oversight on our financial reporting,
  • Conducting quarterly meetings with our Admin & Finance Manager,
  • Chairing Finance sub-committee meetings.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone able to donate around 2-3 hours of their time on average per month. Our preference is to work with someone based in Leeds, but we are open to remote candidates if you're keen to get in touch but live elsewhere in the UK.

Our new Finance Trustee will be an experienced finance professional, eager to undertake this rewarding voluntary role that ensures the financial health and accountability of Behind Closed Doors. You will be joining an established trustee board made up of dedicated, knowledgeable and supportive individuals.

What difference will you make?

This is a pivotal role for our charity, helping to shape our future and support our vision: to build lives free from domestic abuse.

Our new Finance Trustee will servce a vital role in our governance. They will help us drive improvements to our financial strategy, and play a key part in laying a supporting groundwork for the years to come.

We've been supporting domestic abuse survivors in our community for nearly 30 years. Last year alone, we helped over 900 people; 97% of those who worked in our Community IDVA service said that Behind Closed Doors had a positive impact on their lives.

The support and guidance of our new Finance Trustee will help us keep doing this work for years to come.
