Fundraising & Development Advisor

Reach Volunteering

Job Description

Support the organisation in developing sustainable funding opportunities beyond grants. Advise on fundraising strategy, partnerships, and new income ideas to help strengthen financial stability and support long-term growth.

What will you be doing?

As a Fundraising & Development Advisor, you will support the organisation in identifying and developing sustainable funding opportunities, helping to strengthen our financial stability and long-term growth.

This role is focused on providing strategic input rather than hands-on delivery. You will help shape our approach to fundraising by exploring a range of income streams beyond grants, including partnerships, sponsorships, and other creative or earned income opportunities.

You will work closely with the organisation's lead, offering guidance and practical recommendations based on your experience. Your input will help inform decisions, improve how we position ourselves to funders and partners, and support the development of a more structured and sustainable funding approach.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Advising on fundraising strategy and income diversification
  • Identifying potential funding opportunities (grants, partnerships, sponsorships, earned income)
  • Providing input on how to position the organisation for funding and partnerships
  • Supporting the development of new ideas for financial sustainability
  • Sharing insights, feedback, and practical recommendations based on your experience
  • Helping to identify priorities and focus areas for funding efforts

This is a flexible, advisory role suited to someone who is able to think strategically, identify opportunities, and provide clear, constructive input. You will not be expected to lead day-to-day fundraising activity, but your guidance will play an important role in shaping it.

You will be contributing to an organisation that supports children and young people through creative programmes, and your input will directly help strengthen our ability to continue and grow this work.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience in fundraising, business development, partnerships, or organisational growth, who is able to think strategically and identify opportunities for sustainable income.

The ideal volunteer will have a good understanding of different funding approaches, including grants, partnerships, sponsorships, or earned income, and be able to provide practical, constructive input.

You should be comfortable working independently, sharing ideas, and offering clear recommendations, while collaborating with others in a supportive and flexible way.

Experience in the charity, community, or social impact sector is desirable, but not essential.

What difference will you make?

This role will play a key part in strengthening the organisation's financial sustainability and long-term development. By bringing strategic insight into fundraising and income diversification, the advisor will help us identify new opportunities beyond grants, including partnerships, sponsorships, and other income streams.

Their input will support more effective decision-making, improve how we position ourselves to funders and partners, and help us build a more structured and sustainable funding approach. This will enable us to secure resources more consistently, grow our programmes, and continue supporting children and young people in our community.

Good luck with your application
