Job Description
Jewels of Faith is hosting its first ever in-person immersive gathering for women in Manchester! Can you help us capture the magic? We need a talented female photographer to document this landmark day for 40 inspiring women.
What will you be doing?
Jewels of Faith is a faith-based women's community organisation dedicated to encouraging women to thrive in their faith, relationships, and personal purpose. On Saturday 25 July 2026, we are hosting our first ever in-person immersive Women's Well-Being & Community Gathering at Beswick Library, Manchester — and we want every moment beautifully documented.
We are looking for a female volunteer photographer to join us for 5 hours in total, covering set-up through to close. This is a wonderful opportunity to use your skills for a cause that matters while being part of a truly special day.
Your key responsibilities:
During the event (11:00 AM - 2:00 PM): Photograph key moments across the full programme including the wellbeing talk, panel discussion, interactive activity, book signing, and closing celebration. Capture candid connection moments, group shots, speaker portraits, and the general atmosphere of the room. Work sensitively alongside the host to ensure only consenting attendees are photographed - consent will be sought at the beginning of the event.
Stay briefly for any final group or closing shots. Edited images to be delivered to Jewels of Faith digitally within an agreed timeframe.(2weeks)
Your own equipment required. Full briefing and photography consent to be confirmed on the day
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a photographer with a genuine eye for people and emotion — someone who can capture authentic, candid moments as naturally as posed shots. You should be comfortable working in a busy indoor setting and confident directing small groups for portrait or group photography.
Essential skills and experience: You should have your own camera equipment and solid editing skills, with the ability to deliver a clean, polished set of images digitally after the event. Experience photographing community events, portraits, celebrations or social gatherings is ideal. Familiarity with indoor, natural light settings is a bonus as we will be working within a library meeting room environment.
Personal qualities: This role requires as much emotional intelligence as technical skill. Our event brings together adult women of all ages and backgrounds for a deeply personal and celebratory experience. You will need to move through the space with warmth, discretion and sensitivity — reading the room, sensitive to meaningful moments, and always making attendees feel comfortable rather than observed.
Photography consent will be sought at the beginning of the event.
A passion for community: We would love someone who genuinely connects with the heart of what Jewels of Faith is doing — bringing women together to grow, connect and celebrate. If you have ever volunteered at a faith-based, wellbeing or women's community event before, that experience would be a wonderful addition, though it is not required.
What difference will you make?
These photographs will be more than just pictures — they will tell the story of a historic first chapter for Jewels of Faith.
The images you capture on 25 July will be the first visual record of our community coming together in person. They will appear on our website and social media, inspire future attendees, and show the world what it looks like when women gather to uplift, encourage and celebrate one another.
We are looking for a woman who understands the power of this kind of space — someone whose lens will capture not just faces, but feeling. The joy, the connection, the moments between moments. Jewels of Faith is a bold, growing organisation with a community of women across the UK and beyond, and this event is the beginning of something much bigger.
Your photographs will be part of our story forever.
