Job Description
We have a number of vacancies on our Board for people who are passionate about supporting the people and communities of our Borough. In particular we'd like to hear from people with experience in finance, legal, business development or marketing/communications.
What will you be doing?
The CAWF Board of Trustees oversees the governance and overall direction of the organisation; in addition it guides and supports the senior management team in implementing the charity's strategic vision and policies. The Board also ensures that the charity's funds are put to best use in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
As a Trustee, you'll have an appreciation of the challenges faced by the voluntary sector and the residents of Waltham Forest, who can exercise independent judgement and are willing to give their time and commitment to being a trustee. We would particularly welcome applications from those who can bring financial skills, legal knowledge or experience, experience in business development, marketing or communications and from those who have used our services.
The Board currently meets a minimum of four times a year for full Board meetings. In addition, trustees are actively encouraged to join one of our subcommittees, according to their particular area of expertise or experience.
What are we looking for?
Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and we particularly welcome applications from disabled people, people with physical or mental health conditions, LGBT+ and non-binary people, and people from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. We would also encourage young people or people who have experience of accessing advice services to apply.
