Volunteer Handy People Wanted - Help Restore a Historic Church

Do you have DIY and handy skills that are going unused?

Do you care for heritage buildings and community spaces?

Do you want to help breathe life back into a once-loved building in the heart of Rossingdale?

Rossendale Digital CIC is renovating the former Christ Church, Bacup and transforming it into a welcoming digital and community hub. We're looking for friendly, practical volunteers to help us along the way.

The Role:

We are seeking casual volunteers who can lend a hand with practical, low-risk tasks, including:

  • Building and installing shelves and simple fittings
  • Decorating (painting, sanding, finishing)
  • Cleaning windows and stonework
  • Light gardening and outdoor tidying
  • Cleaning, sorting, and general site tidy-ups

Specialist skills (such as joinery, plumbing, or heritage restoration) are very welcome, but not essential.

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for anyone who:

  • Has a couple of hours to spare
  • Enjoys practical, hands-on work
  • Doesn't mind a bit of elbow grease
  • Wants to be part of a meaningful community project

No long-term commitment required. Every bit of help makes a difference.
