Why we’re working with Rest Less

We want to attract employees from all kinds of backgrounds and life stages because we know that a diverse team delivers the best results for our customers. We really appreciate the experience and insight that older employees bring and would love for Rest Less members to consider Ageas as a potential employer.

Why work with Ageas Insurance

Our aim is to have great people everywhere in our business. We strive to create a supportive, inclusive and safe environment that encourages everyone to bring 100% of themselves to work every day. We offer hybrid working, with colleagues typically spending one day a week in the office and the rest of the week working from home (we also offer some roles that are 100% remote).  We’re also happy to combine this with part-time and other flexible work patterns. We also guarantee an interview for anyone with a disability who meets the minimum requirements for a role.

Real-life stories

Changing your career track or transferring to a new company needn’t be daunting. We asked some of our valued team of carers to tell us about their experiences of working at Ageas Insurance. We hope they inspire you too.

Sarah Thomas – Senior Enterprise Risk Consultant

I was 55 when I interviewed at Ageas for a role which, whilst new to me, I could do with my skill set. I’d been made redundant and felt I might struggle finding new opportunities at the same level. Prospective employers were prescriptive and closed in terms of their requirements, but Ageas had the foresight to consider what I was offering in experience to the role, and I’ve loved every minute of the last 5 years I’ve been here.

When you have experience (life or work) you’re braver, require less management and instinctively know how to identify and prioritise the big stuff and not sweat over the small.

Ageas is a particularly exciting place to be right now – inclusive, supportive and diverse in every sense   – a truly collaborative company looking to innovate and nurture talent – everyone’s voice and contribution is valued and experience is respected and drawn on. We pull together and help each other, there’s no blame culture – we learn from each other and move on.

Ageas offer flexible and remote working so the work / life balance is yours to control but you’re never isolated – there’s always someone onsite to work or collaborate with if that’s your preferred environment and the systems we have mean even if working at home you’re never alone.  I look forward to every day and the challenges it brings, the people I’ll meet and the things I’ll learn or contribute to.

Jacqui Warwick – Facilities Team Leader

I have worked for the company 23 years in April.  So what is it like now being a 50+ woman?  Actually it is pretty great!

I’m fully trusted to do the right thing, I’m given opportunities to get involved in more project work, I’m continually progressing my skills and development and was lucky enough to be put forward to attend the first ever Ascend Talent Programme in 2020.  This programme boosted my confidence level in my abilities, taught me how to speak up for myself and not be afraid to put forward my opinions and ideas.

The thing I love about working for Ageas the most is the continual support and encouragement you get.  The work they have done around inclusion and diversity is amazing and we have built a fabulous inclusive culture in the business. As a result, as a 50+ woman, I feel no discrimination in any way towards my sex, age or disability.  I am not held back in any way and there are so many opportunities available should I wish to go for them.  Nobody but myself would hold me back!

Would I promote Ageas as a company to work for as a 50+ woman – absolutely!  You will be given the same opportunities to progress as anybody else.

Ageas actively promote Women in Insurance, so come join us.  You won’t regret it!
