Lesley, Store Manager

Lesley is a young 54-Year-Old and has been with Holland & Barrett since she was 34, Lesley describes herself as a Sun Baby and tries to get away 4-5 times a year, our holiday allowance as well as support from neighbouring Store Managers and Regional Manager makes this a reality!

Lesley joined H&B when we opened a brand-new store in the area and felt their previous retail experience would be an asset to our company and she wasn’t wrong! Lesley has played a vital part in store re-fits and supported other store openings throughout the years, there’s plenty of opportunity outside your store as Lesley has taken on responsibility as a conference coordinator for her region.

Tell me about yourself?

When I am not at work, I enjoy walking my dog, Ruby. I enjoy meeting my friends for a drink and spending time with my partner. Also enjoy reading thriller books.

How did you hear about the opportunity to join H&B?

I used to work next to Holland Barrett as a waitress, they asked me to come and work in their restaurant above the Holland & Barrett store in Birmingham this was over 43 years ago

What’s your favourite thing about working at H&B?

I think I would say every day is different, I get satisfaction from the job every day, still learning new skills after all this time, enjoy the customers you never know what is coming through the doors each day it keeps you young. Have made some wonderful friends for life in H&B, Enjoy the challenge each day.

What advice would you give about the recruitment process to someone applying?

You need energy and a wiliness to learn we can give you the skills you need to do the job. The reward you get when a customer comes back and is feeling better after your help is wonderful. The training is so interesting and the knowledge you learn wonderful.

Retail Assistants

Our Retail Assistants are the central point of our customer contact and paramount in our business’s success, you’ll act as a health and wellness ambassador whilst maintaining high store standards and delivering world class customer service.

You’ll complete our industry-leading retail operational training to become Qualified to Advise across our vast range of products, you can also specialise in areas of interest to you such as sport, nutrition, and beauty.

Our products often fly off the shelves but sometimes they need a helping hand, we offer monthly colleague incentives around key items to encourage promotion.

Retail Supervisors

Our Retail Supervisors are our next generation of leaders, and we’ll provide you with all the tools to progress. You’ll assist in leading and coaching our Store Colleagues and act as a role model for world class customer service.

You will assist in driving financial performance with sales targets, maintain stock accuracy and ensure full compliance with health and safety.

To become a Health & Wellness specialist you’ll embark on a training programme that includes our “Qualified to Advise” and “Healthy Expert” qualifications which are accredited by our awarding body to Level 2 and Level 3

Retail Store Manager

As our Retail Store Manager, you’ll be an excellent leader, running the day-to-day management of the store and become a brand ambassador for Holland & Barrett. You’ll build a high performing team by recruiting, coaching, training, motivating, and setting clear expectations.

Supported by your Regional Manager, you will act as a role model for world class customer service, drive financial performance with sales targets, maintain stock accuracy, set-up store promotional plans and ensure full compliance with health and safety.

To become a Health & Wellness specialist you’ll embark on a training programme that includes our “Qualified to Advise” and “Healthy Expert” qualifications which are accredited by our awarding body to Level 2 and Level 3
