Job summary
Joint Military Command Southeast (JMC SE) is a stand-alone Joint Military Command (JMC) with a fully integrated range of staff including Regular Army, Civil Service, Army Reservists and contractors. HQSE looks after the Armys interests in the eight counties of the South-East, including the Isle of Wight. The breadth of its responsibilities is wide and multifaceted, from assurance of the Field Army to command of UK Resilience Operations, all tasks that underpin the success of the Army on operations.
JMC SE enables the delivery of the Firm Base in support to the Army. The Firm Base is the Army infrastructure which supports the Lived Experience of our Service Personnel and their families who live there. The Headquarters will deliver Real Life Support to Units within the region. It is also responsible for engagement with the civilian community, employers and acts as the proponent for UK Resilience in times of need.
This is an exciting time in JMC SE, as we are continue to deliver operational outputs to our dependent units, military personnel, and their families.

Main responsibilities will include:
- To provide admin support and deputise for the Security Higher Executive Officer (HEO) in the provision of administration and physical security support to ensure efficient management of the security arrangements and facilities for all units in the HQSE Area of Responsibility (AoR).
- To attend unit/police security meetings, within the AoR or in the absence of the Security HEO, to render assistance in the Coordination and writing of Security orders for major events within the HQSE AoR as required .
- Management of distributing operational Summaries, announcements and guidance to JMC and units. Assist in the delivery of the annual security risk management programme.
- To collate, assist and be instrumental in the management of the annual security risk management programme and board. Maintenance of the work programme for protective security cycle and Security Risk Management process.
- Provide input into new builds in line with Centre for the Protection of National infrastructure and Defence Standards for security matters.
- Point of Contact for IT issues involving Information Management.
- Supervise updating of Focal Points System and checking contact details periodically.
- Responsible for vetting records and HQSE vetting register.
- Lead on Security Training requirements.
- Manage Countries to which Special Security Regulations Apply visit applications.
- Manage Public Military Event /Weapon movement applications and Unit armoury sealing requests as and when required.
- Any other tasks commensurate with the role and grade as directed.
Person specification
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, maintain structured records and tracking systems, and ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal form.
- Able to quickly build good working relationships with a variety of partners, both internal and external to the organisation and be able to provide support to a wide range of people of different backgrounds.
- Good Information Technology skills, including basic Microsoft Office 365, and have excellent time management skills.
- You will be able to use your initiative to prioritise work with minimal direction whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
