The Organisation Design & Development team plays a vital role in enabling the organisation to deliver its Corporate Plan by aligning and improving people, structures, and culture. Working at the heart of transformation, the team provides expert insight into how formal elements such as structures, systems, and policies interact with culture, values, and behaviours. Collaborative and forward-thinking, the team partners with senior leaders and professionals across the organisation to drive sustainable change, build capability, and foster a strong, continuous learning culture.

Job description

To be successful in this role you will be supporting a range of organisational development activities, helping to ensure consistent and aligned approaches across the organisation. You will contribute to the use of data and insights to inform initiatives and decision-making, while assisting in understanding the people impacts of change. Working collaboratively, you will help identify risks and opportunities, apply good practice, and support the effective delivery of continuous improvement activity.

Your responsibilities will include, but arent limited to:

  1. Ensuring that organisation design activities are delivered to a common set of principles, with

cross organisational alignment. Staying connected to cross government and external working

groups for Org design best practice.

  • Using analytics and benchmarks to help inform Organisation Design & Development projects
  • and initiatives.

  • Develop and deliver a plan that fosters and builds a supportive culture, based on values and
  • behaviours to underpin the employee value proposition and support the employee life cycle.

  • Leading the design and delivery of cultural initiatives such as cultural enquiry to partner leaders
  • to explore issues to strengthen organisation effectiveness. Preparing the organisation for

    change through partnering all levels of leaders to manage business change effectively

    Required experience:

    To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

    • Experience of supporting organisation design or development activity, ensuring alignment to agreed principles and organisational priorities
    • Experience of using data, insights, or benchmarking to inform decision-making and support improvement initiatives
    • Experience of assessing and supporting the people impacts of change, including identifying risks and contributing to mitigation approaches
    • Experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders to support cultural or organisational initiatives and embed effective ways of working
    You will also hold, or be willing to work towards achieving, a Professional OD&D Foundation qualification (or equivalent) or a Level 5 CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management or Organisational Learning and Development.

    Additional Information

    Working hours, office attendance and travel requirements

    Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week.

    Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 35 hours per week.

    This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.

    The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location/visiting stakeholders. Your designated workplace will be your contractual place of work. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.

    Occasional travel to other offices will be required, which may involve overnight stays.
