If you have vision, drive and enthusiasm for facilitating outstanding tissue viability care then there are excellent opportunities for you in Bedfordshire.

We are seeking a Band 6 Wound care Nurse to join the TVN team, you will be responsible for delivering safe, research based, holistic care to people with chronic or complex wounds, in clinic or the place they call home.

You will be coordinating and managing the clinics, specifically aimed at people with chronic wounds and leg ulcers, delivering training to staff within the Trust, care home and social care colleagues, liaising with hospital specialist staff to ensure safe and timely referral. Working alongside the wider MDT as a member of the TVN team. You will have experience of managing a caseload and be able to deputise for the Band 7 TVN.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team as an experienced wound care nurse. The right candidate will be a good team player, with a strong desire to provide holistic tissue viability care to our patients, along with teaching skills and the ability to motivate staff on all levels

You will have wound care experience and be a qualified nurse with a minimum of three years post qualification experience. Community experience is desired but not essential.

  • Registered general nurse
  • Evidence of significant post-registration nursing experience
  • Demonstrate evidence-based practice and up-to-date clinical skills
  • Ability to manage caseload
  • Relevant teaching/mentoring qualification and evidence of teaching skills

Desirable

  • Experience of clinical leadership
  • Post-registration qualification in relevant clinical field
  • Non-medical Nurse Prescriber
  • Sharp Debridement

Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of the principles of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children
  • Demonstrate an understanding of national government initiatives in Wound care and how they impact on local services

  • Evidence of and commitment of multi-professional working
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of partnership working
  • Comprehensive understanding of the roles of others in health and social care
  • Knowledge of the principles of health promotion and prevention strategies
