Job summary

We are looking for a passionate and organised Communications and Events Officer to join the Compassionate Sheffield Programme at St Lukes. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how communities across Sheffield come together to improve experiences of death, dying and grief, while supporting the delivery of a flagship annual festival and a programme of community events. You will combine event coordination, community engagement, and creative communications to amplify lived experiences and drive meaningful social change.

Main duties of the job

Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the Compassionate Sheffield festival and wider events programme, ensuring events are inclusive, well-organised and impactful. Work closely with community partners to co-create content that reflects diverse voices and lived experience. Develop engaging communications across digital channels including social media, website and newsletters. Manage logistics, stakeholders and timelines, while gathering feedback and insight to support continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities

Plan and deliver the annual festival and events, managing logistics, stakeholders and timelines. Produce and manage engaging communications across digital platforms, including website, social media and newsletters. Work alongside community partners to develop inclusive, co-designed content that reflects lived experience. Monitor participation, gather feedback and support reporting to help improve and grow the programme.
