ABOUT THE ROLE As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Main duties of the job

As a Head of Maintenance at Barchester care home, the primary role is to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment. This involves a variety of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds, such as fixing leaky taps or planting new bulbs. The role requires comfort in working alone, leading a team, supporting annual budget planning with the General Manager, and liaising with contractors for tasks outside the team's expertise. Sensitivity to the needs of the residents is essential. A hands-on experience in property maintenance, possessing at least one trade skill, and the ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks are critical. The role necessitates reliability, flexibility in working hours, a full UK driving license, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Hands-on experience in property maintenance, at least one trade skill, ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks, full UK driving license, IT literacy, GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
