Job summary
Maternity Cover- The post-holder will work within an established Head and Neck MDT alongside colleagues in oral and maxillofacial surgery, ENT, oncology, radiology, healthcare science and prosthetics, with joint clinics enabling coordinated patient assessment and treatment planning.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Consultants provide comprehensive services across 3 NHS Trusts which include New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton, Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, and Manor Hospital in Walsall. All major inpatient work is carried out at New Cross Hospital The service benefits from close integration with an on-site Maxillofacial prosthetics laboratory, providing experienced scientific and technical support, digital surgical planning and in-house 3D printing. Outpatient care and treatment clinics are based at New Cross Hospital, with access to dedicated dental treatment rooms and additional clinical spaces, alongside inpatient and complex surgical activity.
Main duties of the job
We are ideally seeking a locum appointment of 8 Programmed Activities (PAs); to cover maternity leave. There is a requirement for availability on a Monday to support attendance at the weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting, which is a key element of the role, and Tuesday major Head & Neck Theatre sessions.

Job responsibilities
Restorative Dentistry service supports H&N cancer and Hypodontia patients. The service supports all H&N cancer patients from New Cross, Russells Hall, and Walsall Manor Hospitals. This involves pre-surgical planning, pre-radiotherapy assessments, and both primary and secondary rehabilitation
MDT support for joint clinics with Orthodontics for hypodontia treatment planning.

Essential
- Full registration and a licence to practise with the GMC/ GDC
- Possession of a CCST in Restorative Dentistry or within 6 months of attainment
- Experience in MDT management of Restorative patients

- Experience and expertise in the management of patients complex restorative needs including Head and Neck Cancer and Hypodontia
- Experience in the day to day clinical management of a Restorative Dentistry clinic
Desirable
- On the Restorative Dentistry Specialist List of the UK General Dental Council
- On the Prosthodontics Specialist List of the UK General Dental Council
- Other qualification in Restorative Dentistry. eg M Pros MSc, Professional Doctorate
