Job summary

To provide radiology services across North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Trust at two main sites Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven as well as three community sites, Keswick, Penrith and Workington. Comprising general radiography, dental, fluoroscopy, angiography (incl. coronary), Bone Densitometry (DXA), CT, MRI and ultrasound facilities.

Referrals for radiological opinion come from a wide range of specialities typically encountered within a district general hospital, including 24 hour emergencies. General and Dental practitioners also refer patients into the service. The establishment includes consultant radiologists, professional lead, radiographers, nurses, clerical and radiographic support staff

Main duties of the job

All staff are expected to work as part of the admin team within the Radiology department. Provide an efficient and effective appointment and reception service including greeting patients, answering patient enquiries, health record handling, use of computers and associated patient record systems, ensuring efficient and accurate data entry, communicating with patients, carers, clinical and nursing staff.
